The University of Manchester hosts ‘Manchester Management Development Programme’ for business executives in the Middle East

The University of Manchester Middle East Centre in Dubai has hosted the Manchester Management Development Programme (MMDP) for business executives in the region. The three-day programme was held at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai. The MMDP is a new executive education programme that runs on campus in Manchester and has been tailored to working professionals in the Middle East, led by visiting faculty from the university. This is the second MMDP run in Dubai, after its launch earlier in 2018.

The Manchester Management Development Programme is designed to help talented, ambitious managers make the transition into business leadership, in any industry or country in the region. The three-day programme challenges managers to move beyond their comfort zone and past experience, and develop the skills and knowledge needed to take on new and more senior roles.

The MMDP is specifically designed to support 'managers in transition'. For example, they could be transitioning from a supervisory role in a narrow specialism to general management; or from an operational role to translating and implementing business vision and strategy; from a functional role to designing the future organisation; and it could even be moving from one career to another.

The Manchester Management Development Programme covers a range of issues that are especially important when doing business in the Middle East. The MMDP concentrates learning across three intensive days, during which candidates will answer the key questions that ambitious managers should ask themselves, and they will leave with a clear action plan and the confidence, knowledge and skills to achieve it.

Randa Bessiso, Director – Middle East, comments: “The Manchester Management Development Programme is one of our flagship executive education programmes that we have re-designed specifically for the Middle East, where we have been supporting working professionals with our part-time Masters degrees and other business programmes, since 2006. These shorter programmes offer executives an intensive, high impact learning experience with immediate benefits, alongside peers. The University of Manchester has over 50 years’ experience of working in partnership with corporate clients to develop tailored executive education programmes to help inspire leadership and transform organisations.”
