Part-time MSc Reliability Engineering and Asset Management Internationally accredited industry-led Masters programme for REAM professionals and engineering graduates


With an estimated 10% of annual typical plant cost spent on maintaining plant, Reliability Engineering and Asset Management (REAM) is now an even more critical field of managerial and technical importance to International industry, putting Maintenance Managers in a position to make a major impact on the bottom line.

Reliability and Asset Management is a sophisticated discipline that embraces management techniques, organisation, planning and the application of substantial electronic, engineering and analytical knowledge to manufacturing processes, transport, power generation and the efficient operation of industrial, commercial and civic buildings. 

The MSc REAM is a part-time 2-year programme delivered through a flexible blended learning approach - combining self study with face to face workshops conveniently hosted in Dubai - to give managers the technical and managerial expertise to help their companies thrive in the global marketplace. The programme focuses on the practical application of theory to real-world industry needs, while students continue to work and apply their new knowledge in the workplace. 

Course Content
The programme covers various aspects of applied management and technology in the field of REAM, and aims to enhance the capabilities of existing managers in the field through the programme structure and content, as well as new graduates entering the field or those with limited industry experience.  

The course is fully accredited by The Institution of Mechanical Engineers. The teaching staff of the programme has extensive working experience in industry and academic institutions and are internationally recognised professionals.

Since launching in 1997, the MSc REAM of the University of Manchester has built a global community of alumni from more than 250 industries worldwide and is now ranked 4th in the UK in Engineering and Technology (World University ranking 2015).
